About Us
The Internet Society – Ghana Chapter, which was established in February 1996, is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation and official Chapter of the Internet Society. The founding President is Prof. Nii Quaynor.
Mission
The mission of ISOC –Ghana is to inform the private and public community of Internet users, on recent developments in Internet technologies and their impact on today’s global society.
Aims and Objectives
- To develop the Internet in Ghana.
- To promote the expansion of Internet usage of all potential private or public users.
- To create awareness and train potential Internet user to better understand what the Internet offers.
- To safeguard the interest of Internet users with respect to pricing.
- To contribute effectively to the nation’s ICT human resource capacity building programme.
- To collaborate with partner organisations to promote Internet usage.
Activities of ISOC- Ghana
Since it was established, ISOC- Ghana has undertaken several actions for the development and promotion of the Internet. These actions have led to the organisation of several workshops and awareness creation and seminars on the use of Internet tools.
In particular ISOC- Ghana has undertaken the following actions:

- Cisco Network Academy
- Internet Governance Outreaches
- Position Statement on control of content during Swedru nude girls Issue
- One Web Day Celebrations
