Privacy Statement of the Internet Society, Ghana Chapter.


Automatic collection of Information
When visiting the Ghana website certain information are logged to assist in diagnosing server problems, establishing security measures and for on-going site management. The information logged inclues:     

  • Domain from which the user is viewing the pageBrowser typeDate and time
  • The webpages viewed

The chapter is very committed to maintain user trust and confidence. it is our policy to inform all user of any information collected. We do not collect any information that may tie user to a personal identity during their browsing experience. Personal information
The use of on-line forms by our users allow for expedient feedback from surveys, questionnaires, and interrogatories; convenient registration of membership and sponsorship applications; and easy contribution of future donations. We take reasonable measures to guaranteeing the security and validity of the afore mentioned on-line forms.
Submitting personal information on these forms is optional. We will not reveal any personal information that users provide to us to any third party without their expressed consent. Our Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose personal information to respond to legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims that a listing or other content violates the rights of others, or protect anyone's rights, property, or safety.

  • Other Chapters to help detect and prevent potentially illegal acts and provide joint content and services (for example, registration and Applicant support). Other third parties to whom you explicitly ask us to send your information (or about whom you are otherwise explicitly notified and consent to when using a specific service).
  • Law enforcement or other governmental officials, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity. In such events, we will disclose information relevant to the investigation, such as name, region, telephone number, email address.

Without limiting the above, in an effort to respect your privacy and our ability to keep the community free from bad actors, we will not otherwise disclose your personal information to law enforcement, other government officials, or other third parties without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except when we believe in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss or to report suspected illegal activity.
